If you’ve been itching for a new Samsung phone, this is your week.
Samsung’s going to announce its next batch of flagship handsets this week at its newest Galaxy Unpacked event and you can watch it all live. The stream, which pretty much everyone expects to heavily focus on the Galaxy S22 phones, airs at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Feb. 9. It’s viewable on a cornucopia of different websites, including:
-
Samsung’s website
-
Samsung’s YouTube Channel
-
Samsung’s Twitch channel
-
Samsung’s Twitter page
Rather horrifyingly, you’ll also be able to watch it in Samsung 837X, a virtual space with a terrible name and every trendy buzzword from “metaverse” to “decentralized” and “NFT” associated with it. It’s browser-based, so you don’t need a VR headset to watch that way but… you won’t be able to access every feature unless you log in with a crypto wallet.

OK, sure, whatever. Catch me on YouTube instead.
As for the products themselves, expect to see three phones: Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Rumor has it that at least the Ultra phone will have a lot in common with the now-dead Galaxy Note product line, including an embedded slot for the S-Pen stylus accessory. As usual with Samsung, don’t be shocked if the phones have large displays and tons of camera features.
